I saw Nik Kowsar, an expat Iranian cartoonist tonight for the first time since before covid. When I asked what he's been doing (years ago I tried to convince him to do a graphic novel, or at least a novela about Iran's water problems), he said he's been on Substack. Curator Sara Duke says, "Brianna Anderson is giving a lecture about how cartoonists frame environmental issues. In addition to looking at comic book holdings, she has gone through the SPX Collection, posters, and editorial cartoons. The Pickford Theater is located on the 3^rd floor of the Madison Building, directly up from the Independence Avenue entrance to the Building."
