Steve Niles and Brian Walsby will be signing the newly released "Take it Back Life, Anxiety, and Gray Matter" and Evan Keeling will be signing "Forming Fugazi" amongst other dc punk related items.

And absolutely stick around and check out the exhibit "Illustrated Influence: 50 years of Punk and Comics" featuring work by all three of them amongst many other punk/ comic luminaries.

Richard Thompson influenced Norwegian cartoonist and illustrator Jens K Styve

Styve says of Thompson,

“When I got interested in making a newspaper strip, I started looking hard at what actually makes that format work. I’d grown up on Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes, so I already knew there was something in it I loved. Then I found Richard Thompson’s Cul de Sac, and it opened a door: the traditional strip format could still be personal, strange, loose, contemporary.

“When I started developing Dunce, I was trying to bring together two halves of my own background: the craft of Schulz and Watterson, and the rugged, spontaneous, punk energy of the underground comics I grew up on. Thompson’s own drawing and writing are too much his own to copy, but he helped me see that those two halves could actually live in the same strip.”

Joseph Semkiu, a PhD candidate in art history at the University of Southern California and Swann Fellow at the Library of Congress, examines how radio shaped the US home front during World War II, informing listeners and creating “war jitters” as war news filtered over the airwaves, serving as the impetus of Norman Rockwell’s Armchair General (1944), painted for The Saturday Evening Post. No matter how fraught, war news––whether sonic or from the printed page––kept a nation motivated towards victory; and this talk examines how Rockwell’s painting, alongside magazine covers, newspaper cartoons, and propaganda posters, depicted the dissemination and reception of war news on the home front. This lecture examines how radio shaped the US home front during World War II, informing listeners and creating “war jitters” as war news filtered over the airwaves, serving as the impetus of Norman Rockwell’s Armchair General (1944), painted for The Saturday Evening Post. Dash Shaw joins me to chat about his latest book from New York Review Comics, Like Swimmers. It’s a colourful work that looks at a difficult moment through different perspectives. His previous work Blurry was one of my favourites when it was released and rereading it for the interview was a delight and still just as engaging and pulling me in.

Dash is a cartoonist who keeps pushing his work further and into different directions with each successive book. I am always excited to see what he is doing.
