In an email to judges and others today, Marci wrote, " I'll be retiring from The Herb Block Foundation at the end of February. After being with the Foundation since its inception and after 20+ years of giving grants, I feel it is time for the Foundation with Sarah Alex at the helm to continue the incredible work inspired by Herb Block. Throughout the Foundation's work we have been guided by his moral compass, strength and perseverance."
Sarah Alex will be continuing as the head of the Foundation.
As an occasional judge, and regular attendee, I thank Marci for what she's done over the years to support editorial cartooning and Herblock's ideals.
