AFL-CIO calls for picketing of Captain America movie filming

The Writers Guild of America strike continues, and we have a solidarity opportunity near you.

Studios have used the transition to streaming to cut writers' pay and separate writing from production, worsening working conditions for writers at all levels. That's why we need your help to show you support striking writers and say they should get a fair deal in their contract negotiations.

The filming of "Captain America" will take place Wednesday in Washington, D.C., and Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), will be picketing.

We need volunteers for the picket lines. Currently, we will be meeting at the north corner of 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, but please RSVP—as that location may change, and we will send an update if it does.

Picket Shifts for Wednesday, June 28

  • Shift #1—Wednesday, June 28, 4:30–8 p.m. ET | RSVP
  • Shift #2—Wednesday, June 28, 7:30–11 p.m. ET | RSVP
  • Shift #3—Wednesday, June 28, 10:30 p.m.–1:30 a.m. ET | RSVP

In Solidarity,

Team AFL-CIO
