Some of you may have noticed the soft re-launch of our sister sites: Fantom Comics and Subculture for the Cultured over the past few months. Well, today we're ready for our official launch, and if you haven't seen the site(s) yet you're in for a treat. Totally redesigned! Here are some highlights of the Fantom site:
- We have a completely redesigned Online Store, with tons of inventory listed and updated weekly. And – in honor of our launch – select books for 20% and 50% off.
- Our Cover Gallery is back! Check out each week's new releases, updated the Sunday before each New Comic Book Day.
- The Fantom Fandom blog, where we'll post store news, comic book reviews and whatever industry tidbits we come across.
- Our Comic Book Reservation Service "Countdown Clock", prominently displayed on the left-hand side of each page to remind you how long you have until each month's ordering deadline.
And we're really excited about what we've created with our Subculture for the Cultured site, an online magazine highlighting the comic book as the center of the pop culture world. We've scoured the web for great writers, and here's a list of just a few of our featured Columns:
- Drawing from the Headlines focuses on the world of graphic journalism (you know, like Joe Sacco or Guy Delisle).
- Ecocomics. Where graphic arts meet dismal science. For example, their Superheroes and Externalities article breaks down the costs to you and me of, say, a superhero/villain battle.
- Law and the Multiverse breaks down the hypothetical legal ramifications of comic book tropes, characters, and powers. Did Superman break the law as he beat up that criminal? Find out here!
- The Superhero's Guide to Heroism offers ethical tips on superhero problems such as gaining powers, choosing sidekicks, and keeping your identity a secret.
So check it out. Comment. Set up an RSS Feed. Share on FB and Twitter. Fantom was very lucky to recruit so many talented writers and we want to reward them with a solid following.
Thanks everyone, and remember, every week's a great week 4 comics!
