Jamie's webcomic Yellow Peril is at https://www.ypcomic.com/ and it's great fun. I look forward to buying the compilation every year at SPX because I'm old school and like my comics on paper.

Noguchi at Artisphere on Oct. 3 and 5

Cartoonist Jamie Noguchi will be the artist in resident tomorrow at the Artisphere in Arlington, Va., as part of the D.C. Conspiracy’s Comics Making Workshop in the Works in Progress Gallery. Jamie will be there from about 6:30-9ish p.m. (depending on how long it takes him to finish his chalkwall drawing, which each resident artist has done each week). Jamie will also be there on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Below is a recent episode of his online comic Yellow Peril.

Shattered Asian American Comics Anthology photos

Shattered: The Asian American Comics Anthology - A Secret Identities Book - had a booksigning at Busboys and Poets, Washington, DC, with editors Jeff Yang and Keith Chow, filmmaker Michael Kang and cartoonist Jamie Noguchi. The talk went for about an hour and a half and culminated in a 'design a supervillain' crowdsourcing event. The Stain is the audience-designed character drawn by Noguchi. The talk was enjoyable. I read a few stories in the book while waiting and enjoyed the ones by Kang and Noguchi; Bernard Chang's was disappointing because it concludes online somewhere. More pictures are online here.

AnimeUSA underway

I spent a few hours at AnimeUSA today and had a good time looking around at the art show, the dealers and the cosplayers. It runs for two more days. I've put some pictures up here and at Flickr.

Local cartoonists Jamie Noguchi, Tony Tribby and Alexa Polito have tables, as does the Snow By Night webcomic team.
