It's a story as old as time — or at least as old as the Democratic Party: discover a groundswell of pro-worker, progressive sentiment; find yourselves a fresh, charismatic candidate who does a great job of pretending to be progressive; rope in Left voters to help elect her — at which point she turns around and starts engaging in empty, performative protest and fluffy media talk while she runs cover for the DNC donor class, while the working class is left with less than zero once again.
So it was at the Met Gala in New York City this week. While police brutalized protesters outside the Gala NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Liberals' current reigning Yas Kween, was inside showing the bourgeoisie how bad-assed she was by sporting a message in support of tepid, half-assed reformist Liberal legislation that does absolutely jack to separate the 1% from even the most minute subatomic particle of the obscene wealth they've been hoarding at working-class expense.

The Post isn't impressed with Y: the Last Man
In the sci-fi drama series 'Y: The Last Man,' half of society drops dead, and it's ponderous picking up the pieces [in print as Apocalyptic world is left with lifeless characters]

So, after getting the worst of Hurricane Ida, Louisiana is about to
get the worst of the still-ongoing oil spill from somewhere in the
thousands of miles of decomissioned and abandoned pipeline —
previously owned and operated by who the hell knows who — on the
bottom of the Gulf Of Mexico.
"The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement has allowed the
offshore oil and gas industry to leave 97 percent of pipelines (18,000
miles) on the seafloor when no longer in use" since the 1960s, said a
report issued by the Government Accountability Office earlier this year.

Oct 26 reschedule - P&P Live! Siena Cherson Siegel and Mark Siegel-Tiny Dancer
P&P Live! Siena Cherson Siegel and Mark Siegel-Tiny Dancer
Due to a publishing delay beyond our control, this event has been rescheduled to Tuesday, October 26, at 7 EST.
Teenage Siena lives and breathes ballet. Her dedication earns her a spot at the School of American Ballet; her long-term plan is New York City Ballet or bust. In spite of her talent, Siena struggles with self-doubt and injury, leading her to question her dream. But what else could she do, when ballet is all she knows? This loving ode to ballet also questions its sometimes grueling practices. Siena Cherson Siegel's graphic memoir of her own experiences as a young ballet dancer will engage readers of all ages who love dance. Illustrations by Mark Siegel exquisitely capture the dancers' graceful movements.
Siena Cherson Siegel is an author and former dancer who trained at the School of American Ballet. To Dance and Tiny Dancer are stories from her life.
Mark Siegel is known both as an author, illustrator, and as the editorial director of First Second Books, a Macmillan imprint that publishes graphic novels for all ages.
Ages 12 to adult
Each purchase of Tiny Dancer will come with a signed bookplate, while supplies last.
