This week's Zadzooks

ZADZOOKS: Video game review, Gears of War 2: Fenix's foe tougher, Joseph Szadkowski, Washington Times Thursday, November 27, 2008. Meanwhile in Bennett's Best, Greg recommends Fables and Twisted Toyfare Theater. I must confess to enjoying Wizard's fotonovella abuse of toys.

Zadzooks on Batman Lego and Bennett's Best

Okay, I can understand the appeal of making your own stop-action animation film using LEGO Batman toys. But a videogame? Can anyone explain this to me? Zadzooks reviews it anyway in "ZADZOOKS: Dynamic Duo must save city in LEGO Batman: The Videogame," Joseph Szadkowski, Washington Times Wednesday, October 15, 2008.

And in "Bennett's Best for the week of October 5," By Greg Bennett, Zadzooks blog October 15 2008, Greg recommends DC apes and UK World War 1 stories.

ZADZOOKS: Cal McDonald uncovers the occult

"ZADZOOKS: Cal McDonald uncovers the occult," Joseph Szadkowski, Washington Times Wednesday, October 8, 2008. This is a series I keep meaning to read, but still haven't gotten around too. Also reviewed is the Flash, which I don't read anymore.

Zadzooks on Star Wars video game

Zadzooks seems to be bouncing all over the Times lately so I keep missing it. Here's the latest which is videogame animation and the adaption into a comic book - "ZADZOOKS: Star Wars, The Force Unleashed review," Joseph Szadkowski, Washington Times Monday, September 15, 2008.

Online is "Bennett's Best for the week of September 14," By Greg Bennett, Zadzooks blog September 18 2008 in which the Big Planet owner recommends two comics, one of which I've never heard of and the other is a cheap attempt to cash in on current events that DC should be commended for. Like Dell in the 1960s - give the people what they want, even if it is Gunsmoke adaptations!

Zadzooks on videogame with minor comics tie-in and ill-fitting Star Wars characters

For info on some videogame called Soulcatcher IV, the DC comic book that comes with it, and the weird fact that you can have Darth Vader in your game, see "ZADZOOKS: Swords cast world into strife," Joseph Szadkowski, Washington Times Thursday, August 28, 2008.

We also have Bennett's Best online - I looked at the Superman 3-D Final Crisis and put it back. If I made a mistake, somebody let me know.

Zadzooks no more; Mr. Zad on Thor

See "Thor sets heavens on Earth" in the column which may no longer be "Zadzooks" but rather "Mr. Zad's comic critique" in the Washington Times Thursday, August 21, 2008.

On his blog, which is still Zadzooks, he posts Greg Bennett's weekly recommendations. The ones for August 10th are the most recent, and oddly enough, are Halo and Wolverine. It looks like Greg picked these for the writers, Jason Aaron and Brian Bendis.

Legendary comic book store owner Greg Bennett makes recommendations

So I popped over to Zadzooks' new Washington Times website to add a link over there on the right and was startled to find "Legendary comic book store owner Greg Bennett provides a pair of recommendations for comic book lovers every week." So far he's provided recs for August 3, July 27, July 20 and July 13.

Geez. I don't know why I even started this blog. Greg runs the Georgetown Big Planet these days, and I probably see him once a month. But do I hear about this? Noooo...

Zadzooks on DC's Chemistry Set comic book writer

See "ZADZOOKS: Chemistry Set writer Dougan has lots of stories to tell," by Joseph Szadkowski, Washington Times Thursday, August 7, 2008.
