Takoma Park , Md., will host an exhibit titled "(Super)Hero," from July 6 to September 3, that will include the works of a few local comics creators. The free opening reception will be on July 6 at 8:30 pm at the Takoma Community College. Here's info from the Facebook event page:
"They are bold and bad. They are tough and triumphant.
Superheroes leap from comic book and newspaper pages to save us. The
masked and costumed crusaders hail from other planets, while others are
homegrown.
But, what is Wonder Woman like behind her shield
and Batman beneath his cape? Are they fighters off the clock? What
causes their armor to crack?
(Super)Hero looks at the frailties of the people and aliens who vow to battle crime and evil on Earth.
The exhibition features paintings, drawings, and sculpture by Elena
Botts, Davd Ross, Linda Button, Gilda Odio, and Nicole Bresner."
