This author talk explores themes from the book How The Force Can Fix The World, connecting pop‑culture storytelling to real-world challenges. Get your look ready, and bring your entry forms to BlackRock Center for the Arts (adjacent to Germantown Library) starting at 10:30 am on 3/21. No electronic submissions.  Limited to the first 20 entries in each age group. Parent/guardian signature required for ages 17 and under. An in-depth one-on-one discussion with esteemed political cartoonist Ann Telnaes, lead by Jenny Robb, head curator of comics and cartoon art at OSU's Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum. Ann is a multiple Pulitzer Prize-winning artist who–after working for The Washington Post for over sixteen years–resigned after a cartoon she submitted was rejected because it criticized billionaire tech and media executives, including Jeff Bezos, for trying to curry favor with President Trump. Ann Telnaes is known world-wide for her editorial cartoons in various mediums — animation, visual essays, live sketches and traditional print. She won the Pulitzer Prize in 2001 and 2025 for her editorial cartoons. She was also awarded the National Cartoonists Society's Reuben for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year in 2016 and the Herblock Prize for editorial cartooning in 2023.

Hello Everyone! Just a reminder that The SPX 2026 Table Lottery is open for ~5 more days!  Go to this page on the web site and register for the lottery today. Here are the key dates for the Lottery: Monday March 2: The lottery opened at Midnight Eastern Time. Sunday, March 15 - Lottery closes at 11:59PM Eastern Time. Here is some key information about the lottery: We will be checking to make sure you publish comics (minicomix/comics, graphic novels, anthologies, etc., etc.), so if you're exclusively an illustrator, novelist, cosplayer or anime figure retailer you will not be eligible for tables. We will not be picking the randomized lottery winners until after all applications have been received; this means there is no benefit to applying early or late (except maybe peace of mind). You can only apply for the lottery once, and multiple entries will result in you being removed from the lottery pool (unless you email us and tell us you accidentally clicked twice or something, we do have a heart!).
