WE ARE SAD TO ANNOUNCE THAT, AFTER 20 YEARS SERVING THE COMMUNITY, ALADDIN'S LAMP CHILDREN'S BOOKS WILL BE CLOSING AT THE END OF JUNE.

 

Throughout May, we will continue to provide regular service.  We will still carry new books, replace popular titles, and fulfill special orders.  Our regular story hours will continue on Wed. and Sat. at 11:00.  The listing of May events is attached.

 

Our GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALES will kick off this month with discounts of 20-40% on select sections and books.  Please tell your friends, and come to take advantage of our rich inventory of over 18,000 titles, and non-book items such as puzzles, puppets, Baltic amber jewelry, and more!

 

We would like to thank all our customers for their support, patronage and friendship over the years.   It has been wonderful being part of this community for so many years, and we will miss you greatly.

UK Political cartoonist in town on Tuesday night

Meet Author Paul Stewart & Author/Illustrator Chris Riddell

English co-authors Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell (who also is an illustrator) will introduce their newest book Barnaby Grimes: Curse of the Night Wolf, which tells the story of a young man who runs errands on the city rooftops, where he stumbles across strange mysteries and adventures. They also will talk about their other popular adventure and fantasy book series, including the Edge Chronicles and the Far Flung Adventures. A book signing will follow. Grades 4-8. Please call to register.

Mr. Stewart is a highly regarded author of books for young readers - everything from picture books to football stories, fantasy and horror. His first book was published in 1988 and he has had over fifty titles published. Mr. Riddell has illustrated many acclaimed books for children and is a renowned political cartoonist, whose work appears regularly in UK newspapers the Observer and the Guardian.

Mr. Stewart and Mr. Riddell have collaborated on numerous books together including all the titles in the Edge Chronicles (Beyond the Deepwoods, Stormchaser, Midnight Over Sanctraphrax, The Curse of the Gloamglozer, The Last of the Sky Pirates, Vox, Freeglader, The Winter Knights and Clash of the Sky Galleons), as well as the books in the Far Flung Adventures (Fergus Crane, Hugo Pepper and Corby Flood).

July 27: Babymouse at ALADDIN’S LAMP

MEET AUTHOR JENNIFER HOLM: Sunday, July 27 at 1:30 p.m. Author Jennifer Holm will discuss her graphic novel series about a sassy mouse with attitude to spare ... BABYMOUSE! In addition to the eight Babymouse books, Ms. Holm is the author of the Newbery Honor novels A Penny From Heaven and Our Only May Amelia. The ninth Babymouse book, Monster Mash, will be coming out in August. Grades 2-6. Please call to register.
