If you can't join us for the event, please consider supporting this worthy effort with a contribution. Any amount would be welcome.
The Sons of the American Legion are two days away from proudly hosting our first ever annual fundraiser to support our Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) warriors. We would like to ask each of you to consider making a contribution to these worthy veterans who have been injured in the performance of their duties. Your donation will help support the individual and their families as they progress toward the road to recovery. If you are unable to be a sponsor for the event please consider a direct contribution by going to http://woundedeodwarrior.org/events/bbq-fundraiser-honor-eodwfm. Your personal consideration is very much appreciated and will go a long way to supporting these veterans who sacrificed so much.
First Vice Commander
Dear friends, family, associates, and colleagues,
The Sons of the American Legion are two days away from proudly hosting our first ever annual fundraiser to support our Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) warriors.
If you are in the Washington DC area, please stop into the fundraiser barbeque to honor the EOD Warrior Foundation. The event will take place on August 11, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00PM at the Gadsby's Tavern Complex located at 400 Cameron Street in Old Town Alexandria. The EOD Warrior Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves the EOD community by providing assistance to active-duty wounded, injured or ill EOD warriors, wounded EOD veterans and families of our fallen EOD warriors.
EOD stands for Explosive Ordnance Disposal, relating to the disarming and disposal of bombs. On the battlefields in Iraq and Afghanistan, bombs known as improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are responsible for the majority of injuries and fatalities. EOD Technicians are considered to have one of the most dangerous occupations in the military and willingly put themselves in harm's way to protect the lives of others.
Please consider attending, sponsoring or donating an item for our silent auction, or simply making a contribution. The EOD Warrior Foundation is an organization that helps our active and returning veterans and needs your support. For more information, to register or to donate please go to http://woundedeodwarrior.org/events/bbq-fundraiser-honor-eodwfm. You may also contact Co-chairs Doug Coleman (dcoleman@cartercoleman.com) or Jim Lindsay (jim.lindsay@Rocketmail.com) to learn more.
THANK YOU!
