Flugennock's Latest'n'Greatest: "Climate Consensus (Bipartisanship no.3)

Now we're up to date with DC's anarchist cartoonist Mike Flugennock.

"Climate Consensus (Bipartisanship no.3)"
http://sinkers.org/stage/?p=2794

Just so we're clear, here: The GOP thinks climate change is a hoax,
and the Democrats think Putin can shut off our electricity and freeze
us to death by remote control.

Oh, yeah, and the Amazon rainforest — which provides 20% of Earth's
oxygen — is still on fire.

Good; that's sorted, then.

So, just so we're straight, here: Trump is pissing all over everybody,
but the Democrats' main complaint is that the GOP is behaving
boorishly and insists on calling it piss – as they blow off impending
global disaster and put the kibosh on a climate crisis debate.

Meanwhile, the Amazon rainforest is burning, and wildfires are raging in Africa.
The world is literally on fire and meanwhile, the Democratic Party
insists "please, it's not piss, it's Chardonnay".

We aren't going to be able to "election" our way out of this. It's
time to vote in the streets.

This exhibit reads as a nodal part of the history of the cartoon in Mexico and includes a brief representation of the artists who traced and portrayed the history of the country. The pages of El Universal have shown the critical work, with aesthetic greatness, by artists such as Andrés Audiffred, Eduardo del Río Rius, Helioflores and Rogelio Naranjo, who have all shaped Mexican national events with art and humor.

August 16th Flugennock's Latest'n'Greatest: "Sorry About The Airport"

I got a bit behind on posting these, and will catch up through out the day.

"Sorry About The Airport"
http://sinkers.org/stage/?p=2781

If the fact that this and the previous "revolution" in Hong Kong have
been backed by the National Endowment for Democracy and "Freedom
House", and the fact that current "pro-democracy" leaders have been
peeped meeting with US Consulate officials, and the fact that the mob
in Hong Kong have been spotted waving US flags and singing
"Star-Spangled Banner" – not to mention that most of the signs are in
English – perhaps the fact that the Hong Kong "revolutionaries" are
getting big fat shout-outs from Nikki Haley should convince you that
the "revolution" in Hong Kong is a massive, bogus US-backed astroturf
show.

This past Tuesday, a mob affiliated with the "revolution" in Hong Kong
took over the international airport and brought the chaos, confronting
police and causing spectacular disruptions in air travel. The real
kicker was when the "revolutionaries" spent the next day greeting
travelers at the airport wearing symbolic eye bandages in solidarity
with an injured comrade, holding signs apologizing for the previous
day's havoc. That's right, apologizing. Idiots, why the hell were they
there, then? Isn't that the whole point of protest? Hell, that sure
was the point of getting upwards of 100,000 people into the streets of
Seattle and Washington DC to bring the city to a standstill and
disrupt the meetings of the WTO, IMF and World Bank. Disuption was our
jam that day, f'crissake; we sure as hell weren't apologizing for
anything.

Christ, man, c'mon.

This vividly illustrated biography of jazz legend Thelonious Monk brings to life his relationship with the headstrong baroness who would become a life long friend and patron. Set against the backdrop of New York in the 1950s, this graphic biography explores the rare alchemy between two brilliant beings separated by an ocean of social status, race, and culture, but united by an infinite love for music.

Thoroughly researched by author Youssef Daoudi and rendered in his spontaneous, evocative pen and ink, Monk! seems to make visible jazz itself.

Media Release - The Small Press Expo (SPX), the preeminent showcase for the exhibition of independent comics, graphic novels and alternative political cartoons, is pleased to announce the 2019 nominees for the annual presentation of the Ignatz Awards, a celebration of outstanding achievement in comics and cartooning.

The Ignatz Awards are a festival prize, the first of such in the United States comic book industry. .

The nominees for the ballot were determined by a panel of five of the best of today's comics professionals, MK Czerwiec, Kelly Froh, Chris Kindred, Nola Pfau and Rob McMonigal.

Congratulations to all our nominees!, with the votes cast for the awards by the attendees during SPX. The Ignatz Awards will be presented at the gala Ignatz Awards ceremony held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 9:30 P.M.
