July 19: Duane Swierczynski at Third Eye Comics

Meet DUANE SWIERCZYNSKI, writer of DEADPOOL VS. X-FORCE, this Saturday!

So, by now, I think it's safe to say: Third Eye is home to many a DEADPOOL fan, right? And, with that being said, when we saw that one of our favorite writers in comics, Duane Swierczynski, was going to be taking the Merc with a Mouth back to his roots in the upcoming DEADPOOL VS. X-FORCE... well, we knew we had to do something special, right?

So, we were lucky enough to get Duane to make a special trip to Third Eye on Saturday 7/19 to sign copies of his brand new DEADPOOL VS. X-FORCE series, as well as his other incredible work on series like Valiant's BLOODSHOT, and IDW's current run of JUDGE DREDD.

So, what's up with DEADPOOL VS. X-FORCE? Folks, it's big guns, big pouches, and big action, as the Merc with a Mouth goes toe-to-toe with the band of militant mutants who helped bring him to prominence.

Journey back to the long-forgotten days of the 1990s, as Deadpool is jumping around the time stream, running amok, and the X-Force must chase after him before he destroys all of American history for good.

Join Cable and his band of mutants they hunt Deadpool through the annals of American History before he can alter the space-time continuum as we know it. Can they stop him in time? That's what we're going to find out in DEADPOOL VS. X-FORCE!

Folks: this is going to be so much fun. Duane has written a pure love letter to '90s-era comics, as the series walks the fine line of telling one kick-ass action tale mixed with the kind of humor that only DEADPOOL can bring, all the while poking fun at some of the more ridiculous aspects of the '90s Marvel era.

If you grew up with a foil cover in your collection, we think you need this comic in your stack, trust us!

MARCH: BOOK TWO cover revealed -- the sequel to Rep. John Lewis' award-winning graphic memoir!

US Congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis made history with the release of March: Book One, his award-winning and #1 bestselling graphic novel memoir co-written with Andrew Aydin and drawn by Nate Powell. Aside from the unprecedented factor of such a major figure using the graphic novel format, the book has been embraced as both a true work of literature and also a much-needed tool for reaching new generations with the history and lessons of the civil rights movement.

But John Lewis isn't finished making history...

Today, for the first time, we're revealing the gorgeous cover design of March: Book Two, the much-anticipated second part of the March trilogy. It's scheduled for release in early 2015, so we're still half a year away — but the interest in this title is so tremendous that we wanted to showcase something special now, as we head into Comic-Con next week.
Book Two will be significantly longer than Book One, taking a step forward into the tumultuous events of 1961-1963 while continuing the framing narrative of President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009. Major plot lines include the famous journey of the Freedom Riders, imprisonment at Mississippi's Parchman Penitentiary, and young John Lewis' involvement in helping to plan and lead the legendary 1963 March on Washington.
Nate Powell's powerful cover showcases (on top) the Freedom Riders' bus set on fire by a white supremacist mob in Anniston, AL, May 14, 1961, and (on bottom) Lewis' fiery speech at the March on Washington, August 28, 1963.

Watch Lewis and Aydin discuss March and showcase the Book Two cover on CNN!

Pre-order special editions!

As before, we're offering pre-orders on two special editions of March: Book Two exclusively from Top Shelf, in addition to the regular softcover — there is a hardcover edition as well as a limited edition signed & numbered hardcover.
Please join us in celebrating this first look at the next step in the record-breaking March project! Book One continues to rack up awards and honors, has been adopted by schools in 30 states, and is currently being read by 15,000 incoming freshmen at 3 major universities, so the journey of this project is truly just beginning.

The Voices of a Distant Star

Middle school students Mikako and Noboru are close friends, but in the summer of 2046, Mikako is chosen as a Select Member of the United Nations Space Army. She leaves Earth in the winter of 2047, while Noboru goes on to high school in Japan. Separated by space, the two try to stay in touch by mobile mail. However, as Mikako goes farther out in the solar system on board a spaceship, it takes longer and longer for each to receive the other's emails. As Mikako's fleet approaches a time warp, she and Noboru have to face the possibility their contact may break forever.
