After befriending Peanuts creator Charles Schulz in 1980, Calif. artist Tom Everhart, with Schulz's encouragement, began to explore the comic strip on canvas. The Louvre took notice and his work can now be seen in the iconic museum. NBC's Jamie Gangel reports.

6/19 & 6/22: Comic book signings at 3rd Eye Comics

THIS WEDNESDAY 6/19/13 -- 0-DAY Launch Party WILD BLUE YONDER #1 with special guests MIKE RAICHT (STUFF OF LEGEND), & ZACH HOWARD (THE CAPE)

We first saw pages of WILD BLUE YONDER a couple years ago, one night while hanging out with Mike and the Stuff of Legend crew -- and we were blown away. I told him right then and there: when this comes out, we're doing a Third Eye cover, and we're doing a signing for the book.

Fast forward, and this masterpiece is about to drop from IDW, and we could not be more stoked.

Both Mike Raicht (STUFF OF LEGEND) and Zach Howard (Joe Hill's THE CAPE) alongside Austin Harrison, will be joining us this Wednesday to launch WILD BLUE YONDER at Third Eye.

They'll be in-store at our Annapolis location 11AM-1PM, signing copies of the book, and then in-store at our Southern MD location 4PM-6PM, signing copies of the book.

Make sure to pop in and visit!

THIS SATURDAY 6/22/13: Meet JOE HARRIS (Great Pacific), writer of X-FILES SEASON 10, at our X-FILES SEASON 10 #1 Launch Party!

And, then, this Saturday, we're excited to launch the brand new X-FILES: SEASON 10 comic, with special guest JOE HARRIS, who's the writer on the new series.

This is the highly anticipated, OFFICIAL 10th season to the legendary conspiracy saga, and will be tying up all the loose ends that so many of you X-Philes out there have been waiting to see resolved.

As big X-FILES fans ourselves, we're pretty pumped for this, and cannot wait to see what Joe has in store!

We'll have a special, exclusive THIRD EYE COMICS variant of X-FILES #1 available as well featuring art by the one and only Charles Paul Wilson III.

Superman posters in Crystal City

Tom Spurgeon caught an article in Mother Jones about the use of the Man of Steel Superman movie in National Guard recruitment ads. I should have done something earlier, because I saw one of these posters in Crystal City over a week ago.

Honestly, the themes don't seem to match up.

Kickstarter Update #7: Scalawag! by Troubadour Games

This is the project that Jeffrey Thompson, wageslave at Big Planet Comics Bethesda, did the art for.

Project Update #7: Final 30 Hours

Posted by Troubadour Games Like

Greetings and welcome aboard to all the new backers!

This is it. The final 30 hours of the campaign. Scalawag! is funded and ready to go to the printer, but there is one more goal that is within reach.

If the funding reaches $25k or the Scalawag facebook page receives 200+ likes, all of the cards in the game will have their stock improved (300gsm grey-core improved to 330gsm black-core). Essentially, improving from what is fairly standard cards to what is often referred to as "casino quality" card stock.

Currently the Scalawag facebook page has 143 likes, so it only needs 57 more to reach the stretch goal. If you haven't liked the page yet, simply follow the link below and click on the 'Like' button for the page. If you have, share the page with your friends and ask them to help you improve the qual ity of Scalawag! They might be interested in becoming a backer!

Thanks for all of your support!
