Greg Halayko's The Enchanted Dagger Comic Book Kickstarter campaign

I've been working with public domain Golden Age characters from the 1940's at the suggestion of a local comic convention organizer here in Northern Virginia. I told him I was looking for a fun angle to cut my teeth on and develop my skills before I attempted any magnum opuses. I was skeptical at first but soon discovered a Simpsons-esque pantheon of zany characters from the 1940's. To my surprise I was inspired! My early attempts sprang forth with ease. Soon I was developing this strange outline about cartoon mobsters and spectral folk heroes from Americana. An outline for a longer series was taking form. Then I found The Enchanted Dagger, one of the oddest of the Golden Age weirdos, with his zentai body suit, logo-less and inconsistent in color. Suddenly I had enough material to make a whole series and that's what I did. Thank you!

Ahh... The Enchanted Dagger.   I too was drawn in by it's mystical powers...  Many years ago when I started working on this comic, I declared that if I could finish 7 of the planned 9 issues in the series, I would consider it viable and crowdfund it.  That goal has now been accomplished!  Accordingly, I am pleased to present the first 3 issues of "The Enchanted Dagger:  A Lurid Tale of Political Intrigue", a Golden Age mash-up with some flashes of Heavy Metal Magazine style naughtiness.

The Enchanted Dagger tells the story of Roger Chalmers, a rising political neophyte who holds the political establishment of Great City in his thrall.  With the aid of the Enchanted Dagger, a magic knife which compels the truth from all who are subject to it, Roger has the politicians cowering in disarray.  What do politicians fear more than the truth?  The bad news is that Great City is populated by a rogues gallery of Golden Age has-beens and never-wuzzes.... and they're going to do all they can to bring Roger to heel!

The Enchanted Dagger is a 9 issue comic book series in full color.

To expedite our project, we're putting up the first 3 issues of the comic in this first campaign. Each issue is going to run about 32 pages.  So, this campaign is for the first 90 pages of our comic story!  We'll follow this campaign with one for issues 4&5 soon, followed by 6&7,  and so on.  This is a crowdfund in the truest sense.  100 percent of what we are attempting to raise is going to printing and shipping, helping to build an inventory.  Thank you!

Take a look at what you're in for in the first 3 issues...
