Anything can happen in a comics strip

My friend Professor Tom Inge once wrote an exhibit about how "Anything can happen in a comics strip."  Today's Post newspaper page bears that out with four strips using other characters.

Pearls Before Swine namechecks Pogo.

Brewster Rockit jokes about Superman.

Lio sticks its tongue out at Peanuts.

Mutts recalls Little Nemo in Slumberland, undoubtedly to the confusion of most of its readers.

And just to mix it up, a few days ago, Pooch Cafe's Paul Gilligan had this piece of artwork illustrating an article on Supermoms.
