Richard Thompson also got some love on the Comics Journal message board. In the middle of explaining why he doesn't like "Lio" or "Calvin and Hobbes," someone named "Uland" wrote:
"...Richard Thompsons' Cul De Sac is hitting all the right notes for me. A single drawing of the little girl character in that strip expresses more to me about childhood- and the inherent funniness of children- than a hundred Lio strips.
I think it's a better strip than Calvin and Hobbes."
Uland's started a blog with interviews recently. Here's one he did with a Pekar collaborator -
Ed Piskor.
