My recording of this missed the first question. Matthew said he was drawing kids characters of DC's occult characters and posting them online during COVID and DC asked him to pitch the book.
DC let him alter the characters as he wanted.Matthew is talking about creating kids versions of DC's occult characters including Deadkid instead of Deadman, and Blue Devil, Arion, and Amythist. And Ambush Bug.
Interestingly, he just said that immortal characters such as Phantom Stranger appear as adults.
Dr. Occult is gender-swapped but has a similar costume. Blue Devil was fused with his Halloween costume via magic lightning.
