men …

After lung cancer, prostate cancer is the leading cause of cancer death of men in the United States. The Feb. 10 "Dustin" comic strip depicted a doctor about to give his patient a rectal prostate exam, an important initial method of cancer detection. However, the doctor's dour expression and the surprise and concern on the face of the patient might dangerously discourage men from getting checked.

and irony

In the Feb. 12 "WuMo" comic strip, two men are standing in front of a printing press through which a newspaper is being printed. One man — the boss, I suppose — says to the other: "Just print lorem ipsum on all the pages. No one reads printed newspapers. They're mostly used for bird cages and wrapping fish." I beg to differ. I still read the printed paper daily. I will make the transition to an electronic version only reluctantly. By the way, now that the comics are printed in color, they are more inviting.
