11AM-2PM!
Signing 11AM-2PM

Govt employee? Show ID and get a free DC Comics Graphic Novel or Comic courtesy of Tom King! - ALL DAY!
Third Eye Faithful, we know we have a lot of you out there who may have loved ones who are impacted by the recent government shutdown, or may be impacted yourselves -- and, we know how sometimes something as simple as an afternoon of good comics, good fun, and good friends can help lighten the week.

Well, when our pal, and all-around amazing comic book writer extraordinaire Tom King reached out to us to let us know he had tons of DC Comics graphic novels he wanted to put in the hands of those affected by the government shutdown -- we dug into the Third Eye vaults, put together a bunch of comics on our end as well -- and together, we're going to be hooking anyone who shows their government ID at Third Eye this Saturday between 11AM-9PM a free graphic novel or comic (while supplies last!)

And, of course, even if you don't have a government ID, you can still come and get your Tom King comics and graphic novels signed!
So, Third Eye Faithful, come on out this Saturday, and spend some time with your Third Eye Fam and Tom King as we deliver an afternoon of pure Third Eye fun!

Read all about Tom King's projects here!

Nominated for Best Animation Film at the 2018 Awards of the Japanese Academy
Producer Genki Kawamura follows up his mega-hit Your Name with another tale of star-crossed teenage lovers with a sci-fi fantasy twist.
Shy Norimichi and fast-talking Yusuke, are goo-goo-eyed over the same elusive classmate, Nazuna. But Nazuna, unhappy over her mother's decision to remarry and leave their countryside town, plans to run away and has secretly chosen Norimichi to accompany her. When things don't go as planned, Norimichi discovers that a glowing multi-color ball found in the sea has the power to reset the clock and give them a second chance to be together. But each reset adds new complications and takes them farther and farther away from the real world – until they risk losing sight of reality altogether.

Fireworks tells a simple story of adolescent longing that taps deep wells of emotion. It is tale of youthful wistfulness, missed opportunities and long-ago dreams, of the urgency of young lovers, and the desire to create a separate universe, a magic place outside of time, where they can be together.

Flugennock's Latest'n'Greatest: "You Can't Silence..."

From DC's anarchist cartoonist Mike Flugennock -

"You Can't Silence..."
http://sinkers.org/stage/?p=2665

With all the critical issues facing this country – the escalation of  police violence, the continued highway robbery of the People by the likes of Amazon, the lack of hurricane relief for Puerto Rico, the lack of clean water in Flint, Michigan; the children dying in cages at the border – the first act of the US Senate this year was to introduce legislation that criminalized involvement with the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement working to end the Israeli occupation and apartheid state in Palestine.

New Herblock exhibit opening this month at Library of Congress

Art in Action: Herblock and Fellow Artists Respond to Their Times
Jan. 31, 2019 – Aug. 17, 2019

A new exhibition, "Art in Action," will explore the tradition of artists as social commentators. Drawings by renowned editorial cartoonist Herblock will be paired with historical and contemporary artists' prints, drawings and posters that respond to major issues from the 17th century to the current day. As a political cartoonist for The Washington Post and other newspapers, Herbert L. Block, better known as Herblock, devoted his career to creating social commentary through art. Topics that drew his attention provide the exhibition's framework, including civil rights, women's rights, health, war, refugees and the role of media.

Herblock's cartoons provide a call and response with other socially-engaged artists who expressed their opinions through art. The exhibition includes depictions of Pablo Picasso and works in the global tradition of political art by Jacques Callot, Francisco de Goya, and Leopoldo Méndez – as well as modern and contemporary American artists including Alexander Calder, Enrique Chagoya, Shepard Fairey, Kerry James Marshall, Juan Fuentes, Favianna Rodriguez and Helen Zughaib, among others.
