'Whurk' has comics
Whurk is a relatively new monthly, tabloid arts newspaper in Fredericksburg, Va., that includes a couple comic pages and a few gag panels by rotating contributors. The November edition (issue #9) includes a spread by Ted Schiffrin (sample of the pages below).

MacAuley cartooning for Cosmopolitan.com
Arlington-based cartoonist Christiann MacAuley was recently
hired to create weekly humor comics for Cosmopolitan.com. MacAuley told ComicsDC the comics will “touch on topics relevant to the lives of fun-loving
women such as dating, partying, pop culture, health fads, and uncomfortable
footwear.” And to be clear, she has “no plans to ink the words ‘How To Please
Your Man’ in any case other than strict irony." Cosmopolitan began running
MacAuley's previously-published comics in late September and will begin
publishing new, original content in the coming weeks.

Dec. 6: Live Big Planet Comics podcast 100th episode
To celebrate the 100th episode of its (mostly) weekly podcast, Big Planet Comics will record it live at its store in D.C. on Dec. 6 at 8:30 p.m. It's an open invitation to be in the audience. BPC doesn't have details yet on any special activities, but it notes its live 50th episode included trivia contests, audience questions and more.
