Dec 2: JK Snyder III at Capicons convention
Baltimore artist John K Snyder III is appearing at Capicons on December 2.
http://capicons.com
John did a lovely page in the Team Cul de Sac book, so you should buy a copy and have him sign it. He's appearing on behalf of Hero Initiative charity. I'm sure he'll have some of his own current work too.

Cartoonists at Artomatic photographs
Cartoonists at Artomatic photos in my Flickr account. Exhibitors include David Hagen, Ben Claassen, Michael Auger (not pictured), Annie Lunsford, Karon Flage (photos by the former Small Press Expo/SPX head), illustrator Bono Mitchell and collagist Grace Yost. Bon vivant editorial cartoonist Steve Artley is in the pictures too. Hagen, ARtley, Auger, Lunsford and Mitchell all contributed to the Team Cul de Sac anthology which goes on sale tomorrow.
David Hagen. I'm now wondering how to get the drywall off the pillar.
And here's two shots of Russ Kick from his Graphic Canon booksigning at Big Planet Comics Bethesda:

Have I mentioned the Team Cul de Sac blog?
I think not. The Team Cul de Sac blog is now live and has some of the art that cartoonists have been submitting, including local stalwarts SL Gallant and David Hagen, Alaskan cartoonist Peter Dunlap-Shohls and the great Lynn Johnston.

Richard Thompson's popping up all over the place
You can see a poster he did for Arlington's Mardi Gras - St. Patrick's Day extravaganza.
Tom Richmond's drawn a caricature of him leading the pack to the National Cartoonist Society's Reuben awards.
We launched the Team Cul de Sac blog tonight to try to get more regular updates about this great project out to you.

David Hagen's Team Cul de Sac contribution is sweeeet
Richard Thompson's friend David Hagen has painted his Team Cul de Sac contribution and put the image up on his blog. I'll be bidding on this at the auction, although I already have a Hagen hanging in my house. David also did the original ComicsDC logo out of the blue, and the goodness of his heart.

Team Cul de Sac gets a cheerleader
Richard Thompson's drawn this illustration for Team Cul de Sac, and you can click through the link to donate cold hard... credit! But we know you're good for it.
If you're an artist, and you're on the fence about participating... the real money will probably be raised by the art auction, so please! draw Richard's characters for him.

Contributing to Team Cul de Sac, if you're not a cartoonist
For the non-cartoonists who want to support Team Cul de Sac, you can choose to contribute money directly online.
The Fox Foundation's website for Team Cul de Sac is somewhat confusing, but click on that link, and then select the big orange button that says DONATE NOW. You can select amounts to be charged to a credit card. If you want to join TCdS, there's another button for that, but there's a $50 fee, and I'm not sure what benefit there is to that.
Mason Mastroianni of B.C. is the latest artist to join.

Team Cul de Sac launches for Parkinson's Disease fundraising
Chris Sparks, Cul de Sac's webmaster, has launched Team Cul de Sac to raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation and Parkinson's Disease research. You can read Richard Thompson's take on it or just go right to the charity's main page and pledge some money. If you're a cartoonist, rather than contributing money, you may wish to participate in an art auction. Chris wants to raise $250,000 and has gotten commitments from excellent artists already (some of whom aren't even Richard's friends!), and Andrews McMeel will be publishing a collection of the artwork which I'm really looking forward to.
Thank you all for any support.
