Graphic Novel Workshop Series
Learn the art of graphic novel story telling
For this 4-part workshop series, we invite local artists to share their knowledge on the creative process when creating comics. This workshop is part of a 4-part comic series. Each event builds on the previous events but may be attended as a stand-alone event as well.
Graphic Novel Workshops:
- Sat. Jun. 10: Scripting
- Sat. Jul. 8: Linework
- Sat. Jul. 29: Finishes
- Sat. Aug. 19: Formatting
The first session will be hosted by Evan Keeling who will discuss his comic work and provide a hands on workshop for participants who want to write and storyboard their own comic series. Keeling is a comic maker from Washington DC and a co-founder of the comic artist and writer collective, "DC Conspiracy". Evan develops comic book programming and creates mini comics at the Smithsonian, where he has been an exhibit specialist for the last 12 years. His personal comic work, along with that of the groups he collaborates with, can be found at: ETKeeling (tumblr.com)
Registration Required for each individual workshop: Adults and Grade 9+ Only. If you are registered but are unable to attend, we ask that you cancel your registration using the link found in the registration email.
