The Gaithersburg Book Festival (May 17) is expanding its
lineup of graphic novel authors this year, with a good number of creators from
First Second. Returning is Dave Roman (Astronaut Academy) and joining him is Raina Telgemeier (Smile), Ben
Hatke (Zita the Spacegirl), Garth Hinds
(The Odyssey), and George O’Connor (Olympians). Authors that combine comics and text include Rachel Renée Russell (Dork Diaries) and Janet Tashjian (My Life As a Cartoonist).
