Russ Kick is signing on Saturday!

The summer of signings continues at Big Planet! Thanks to everyone who came out to meet Jerry Gaylord at College Park last Saturday. This Saturday we have Russ Kick, editor of the just released anthology, The Graphic Canon volume 1, appearing at our Bethesda store!

June 2 - Russ Kick Signing

Russ Kick, editor of the anthology The Graphic Canon, will be appearing at our Bethesda store for a signing on Saturday, June 2. Publisher's Weekly called The Graphic Canon "the graphic publishing literary event of the year". It is a collection of classic literature interpreted as comics by such greats as R. Crumb, Will Eisner, Molly Crabapple, and lots more, over 130 in total!

This first volume (of an eventual 3) is subtitled From The Epic of Gilgamesh to Shakespeare to Dangerous Liaisons, covering literature through the 1700s. The Odyssey, Beowulf, Lysistrata, The Book of the Dead, The Canterbury Tales, London Journal, and more.

UPCOMING June 9 - Nick Abadzis Signing

Nick Abadzis, creator of Hugo Tate, will be appearing at our Bethesda store for a signing on Saturday, June 9.  Nick is also creator of Laika, and did the excellent series of The Alternate Endings to the Laika show for our webpage!

Hugo Tate is one of his earliest creations, and is finally getting collected in a new book – Hugo Tate: O, America.

Batman: Death by Design HC

A new stand-alone graphic novel of Batman that may become a new classic! Uber-designer Chip Kidd tells the story of Bruce Wayne trying to demolish his father's old Gotham train station, while the Joker has plans to intervene, and a new vigilante is getting involved. Great action and a cool plot combine with amazing art-deco artwork by Dave Taylor to make this a must-have for Batman fans!

A strange but compelling look at the minor things that go unnoticed in life, from a disintegrating relationship to the secret influences on our actions and the hidden aliens who document humanity! Wonder Woman 1: Blood HC

The Greek mythology of Wonder Woman comes back to the fore as a new child of Zeus is found on Earth and Diana steps in to protect her in this horror-tinged new story! Avatar the Last Airbender: The Promise 2 SC

This sequel to the show picks up right where it left off, with Aang and Katara trying to prevent a new war as the Fire Nation colonies in the Earth Nation area lead to trouble! Monsieur Jean: The Singles Theory HC

Kick-Ass 2 HC
