The MLK Library is inviting fans of the Marvel Universe and readers of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate the release of The Avengers Assembled: The Origin of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Register today to join us on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library for an Author Talk with native Washingtonian, David Betancourt to discuss how he turned his love of reading graphic novels into a career writing for Marvel. David is a four-time Eisner Award nominee who writes about all aspects of comic book culture for The Washington Post.
His latest title The Avengers Assembled: The Origin of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes is an in-depth, biographical take on the greatest Superhero team of all time. The 45-minute conversation will be led by journalist and pop-culture critic Helena Andrews.
