We'll be at SPX table W47-48 with Matt Madden, Andy Hartzell,Peter Rostovsky, Kriota Willberg, and Tom Kaczynski

Other Uncivilized artists at SPX: Josh Bayer, Sophie Yanow, and Dash Shaw

Here's Our Signing Schedule for the weekend:

Our Rogue, Unauthorized, Unofficial Roundtables are BACK! They were a hit last year, so we're doing them again. Don't miss out on these unique events designed with participation and conversation in mind. There will be two of them:

Creative Apocalypse: The Metaphysics of Comics

Saturday at 1:30 PM – Metaphysical Room

Any cartoonist confronting a blank sheet of Bristol board is akin to the Divine Mind moments before creation: "Where do I start? Do I have it in me to make a world?" Art was born out of worship, and the connection between drawing and the sacred persists…at least when we're feeling inspired. When the Muse fails to show, it feels like Hell.

What's the connection between comics and cosmogenesis? Does the Second Commandment forbid all cartoon art or just gag strips? Are graphic novels a sign of the end times? Where will we get our brush markers during the apocalypse?

Join a metaphysical free-for-all with Tom Kaczynski(Cartoon Dialectics), Joel Priddy (First There Was Chaos), Peter Rostovsky(Damnation Diaries), and Andy Hartzell (Monday), four cartoonists whose work has charted the planes from Inferno to Utopia and beyond.

The Failed Medium: Comics in a Post-Literate World

Sunday at 1:30 PM – Metaphysical Room

Comics are a maligned former mass medium. Now, they are touted as a gateway to literacy. However, literacy rates are decreasing, and mass media has transformed and splintered into social media. The academy is fast losing its former prestige. Broadcasting turned into Podcasting. Artificial Intelligence is around the corner, eager to take over. A new world order is emerging. How do comics fit in? Join technologists, artists, academics, publishers, and all cartoonists Andy Hartzell, Joel Priddy, Peter Rostovsky, and Tom Kaczynski in a wide-ranging roundtable on the role of comics in a post-literate world.

Many of our artists are taking part in the official SPX programming slate. Here are a few highlights:
