ABOUT THE BOOK:

Set in the Joseon Dynasty, where women are bounded to strict expectations of behavior, Kai is a force to be reckoned with. Surpassing her father, a prominent general in martial arts, she is focused more on her fighting abilities than pursuit of a husband. However, a strange transformation reignites the demons of her parents' past, compelling Kai to reconcile her identity or else face a future condemned to isolation. This queer, feminist reimagining of the classic Korean folktale of the nine-tailed fox is brought to life in a powerfully illustrated graphic format that highlight the turmoil of a young girl fighting to defy her fate.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Robin Ha is an award-winning author, illustrator and comic artist. Her graphic novel memoir Almost American Girl was a Harvey Award nominee. Her comics and illustrations have appeared in various publications, including the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times. She is also the author of the best-selling comic recipe book Cook Korean: A Comic Book with Recipes.
